MEET FOOTBALL FOR THE WORLD FOUNDATION – USA
The Football For The World Foundation envisions a world where all children have access to food, education and sport. In Canada, the US, and abroad, youth face many barriers to participation in sport. While these barriers take different forms in different places, FFTW works closely with communities to overcome each set of unique challenges. Their programming is designed to set individuals and communities up for sustainable success. This means harnessing the power of collaboration with schools, sports clubs, nonprofits, community groups, individuals and corporations to achieve their mission: improving children’s quality of life through the game of football.
WIS x FFTW
Headquartered in Canada and the USA, WIS partnered with the USA arm of the foundation to support its growth. Women-founded, led, owned and operated by Executive Director Monica Bosiljevac, we want to provide FFTW with greater visibility to help expand their ongoing philanthropic work, domestically and abroad, all while giving founder Monica and her team the support of a broader network to tap into.
Most recently WIS has sponsored a squad to play in the Art Basel FC tournament taking place during the infamous Art Basel weekend in Miami, Florida December 1 – 4. Stay tuned to the Football For The World social handles to get in on all the action.

MEET THE FOUNDERS:
Alikhan Popat coached in India, Tanzania, Uganda, United States, and Canada. Each place he coached, he witnessed the passion and love of the game. He also recognized a need for children to have the proper equipment to play and the power of football to break down barriers. The beginning was simple. Alikhan made it his mission to start a used equipment donation drive back home in Kitchener, Ontario with the help of his family and friends. The goal was to to collect equipment for as many children as possible.
Monica Bosiljevac – The story was not much different for FFTW-USA’s current Executive Director, Monica Bosiljevac. After coaching a girls team in Tanzania, while Alikhan coached the boys on the other half of the field, Monica knew football was a powerful tool to drive female empowerment and leadership. She started collecting items in the basement of her college house, before growing programming in Kingston, Jamaica and Omaha, NE.
“Let’s really think about the systematic things that are keeping kids out of sport, whether it’s because they can’t afford it or because of their gender, and we’re going to be that tireless advocate.”

Football For The World USA has embarked on incredible new initiatives in 2022, and has a shop where with every purchase proceeds support their mission of making soccer accessible for all. As they say: look good. Do good. Your purchase may offset the shipping expenses to get cleats to girls playing soccer, help pay for a mini-pitch to be installed in an urban neighborhood, or offset league fees for a team to play for the first time.
