MEET STREET SOCCER USA

For nearly 10 years now Street Soccer USA has been breaking boundaries in the world of soccer. Just this year alone, for the first time, 10 girls came together from six different US cities to travel to Doha, Qatar and represent the Street Soccer USA National Girls Team in exhibition matches surrounding the 2022 Street Child World Cup. SSUSA is changing lives in a special way.

SSUSA brings its programs to kids 6-18 years old, as well as special needs populations including homeless families, adults and people in recovery. They focus their efforts on the 33% of youth who are living below the poverty line and have graduation rates between 55-65%.

SSUSA has positively impacted the lives of over 15,000 youth and adults, and have grown to encompass 14 cities throughout the USA. They are also the official partner of the Homeless World Cup and the Street Child World Cup, which provides opportunities for valuable international experiences for their program participants.

Who’s inspired!? We are. Support the Street Soccer USA today with a donation or a follow (we recommend both!).

WIS x SSUSA

WIS is here to celebrate and uplift the incredibly impactful work Street Soccer USA does year in and year out all the while supporting their leadership teams and rising alumni. We do this by engaging in their live activations (like their recent first-of-its-kind girl’s and women’s division of their annual Time’s Square Cup), profiling their leaders as experts across the soccer industry, and welcoming their alumni into our free WIS platform. A few other ways we have worked together so far:

  • Chief of staff for the Sacramento chapter of SSUSA, Tiffany Fraser spoke on mentorship at the WIS 2021 Career Fair
  • Lisa Wrightsman, Executive Director of the Sacramento chapter of SSUSA joins 2022 USL x WIS PITCH IT contest for gamechangers judging panel

GET INVOLVED WITH SSUSA

It’s easy to take for granted safe spaces like the ones cultivated by soccer teams. SSUSA reminds us just how valuable these spaces are, and gives thousands of people, young and old, in high need communities the opportunity to find a safety and opportunity in their programming year after year. Find the way that feels right for you to get involved and make an impact by supporting Street Soccer USA:

FUNDRAISE (like host a soccer tournament, donate your birthday or take on a challenge).

JOIN THE MOVEMENT (coach, volunteer, work with SSUSA, build a park!).

SHOW UP & DONATE.
